Kariunga Greens Farm in Mukima, Nanyuki is ancestral land that had been used for subsistence farming for generations.

Nkirote having completed her studies as an environmentalist in 2013 with support from Koome a trained agriculturist, they began farming for the local market. Having mastered the art of growing they were contracted by one of the largest exporters as a contract farmer for french beans at which they excelled and at one point were the largest supplier in the region.

They say the rest is history – and over the years the farm has now transformed to a leading supplier of fresh herbs for the export market.

At Kairunga Greens, we are committed to the highest standards of good agricultural practices and have received Global Gap Certification. The farm is equipped with a pack house to facilitate packing of produce based on market specifications.

The current portfolio of year round products includes: French Beans, Rosemary, Thyme, Lemongrass, Sage, Lavender and Passion with a number of other seasonal produce cultivated from time to time. We grow all our produce in open fields and at an altitude of 1,800 Meters.

We use a combination of Integrated Pest Management methods to control unwanted pests with the least amount of unnatural interference.
Our staff is trained on the latest methods in crop management, health and safety and pest control.

We are fully reliant on solar energy on the farm and are continuously working to improve on our crop production to reduce our environmental footprint and to conserve our soil and water.

PRODUCTS

Herbs

Our herbs full of flavor and aroma are grown in open fields with the highest level of agronomic care. The herbs are either packed in bunches of 25/50/100gm. The length depends on the customer specification. Packing is done using cardboard boxes or dependent on customer needs. Produce is available all year round.
